FAQ’s

Do you travel?

Yes, we are destination wedding photographers based in California. We love large Sonoma County Weddings just as much as small, intimate elopements in Paris. We are dually based in Northern California and Southern California, splitting our time between the two. We happily pack our bags for destination weddings all around the world. We LOVE to travel so please don’t let distance deter you from reaching out. We’ve been to France, Italy, Spain, Greece, Portugal, Ireland, Morocco, Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, Indonesia, Japan, Peru, Guatemala, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Iceland, Ireland, Switzerland, Canada and Mexico…like we said, we love to travel!

Why should we book you? 

We tend to let our images speak for themselves but if you still aren’t convinced here are a few more reasons:

Customer service. We are here to help you from the moment you send your first email until your wedding album is shipped. We respond to all emails promptly, and in most cases within 24 hours. We understand that planning a wedding can be stressful and you have a lot of things to consider. Worrying about photography shouldn’t be one of them.

We are a team. It is invaluable to me to work with the same person over and over. That person happens to be my best friend. Manuel and I work together at almost every wedding and we’ve developed a pretty awesome system to cover all of the angles. 

The wedding guide. You get exclusive access to our Melanie Osorio wedding guide. We can’t emphasize how much info is packed into this guide. Years in the making, every little detail, note, thought, and tip is in here. We’ve covered everything from the perfect timeline to ceremony lighting. Don’t know when you should schedule your engagement session or what time of day is best for a ceremony in the fall? It’s all in there, and then some. The information in the guide alone will save you SO much time AND money. 

Connection. We want to get to know YOU and learn about your story, your vision for the wedding, and what makes you laugh. We have a unique approach that allows us to get genuine emotions out of the most self-proclaimed “shy and awkward” couples. We always get the classic pose, you know, the one Mom is going to frame, but the majority of our sessions do NOT involve poses. We strive to capture the authentic you, whoever that might be. We’ve had quiet couples, giggly couples, shy couples, and everything in between. We walk you through your session with prompts to get the most authentic reactions. Seriously, it’s FUN to be in front of our cameras. 

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes, we do.  We require a 33% non-refundable retainer to hold your spot and then you can make small or large payments as you go. The final balance isn’t due until 30 days prior to your wedding date.

Are you insured?

Yes, we have all of the necessary coverage your venue will need and am happy to provide documentation should they require it.

Do you have backup equipment?

Yes, we bring multiple camera bodies to every wedding. All of our packages include a second professional photographer who also has multiple camera bodies. We’ve got you covered.

How many images will we receive?

Each wedding varies on the amount of time invested in photography coverage, details, and events so it’s an impossible question to answer. Our philosophy has always been quality over quantity. We curate the images to deliver the most beautiful representation of your day. On average you can expect to receive 50-100 images per hour of coverage.

Do you edit all of the images?

Yes, each image will be color corrected and edited to give it our signature style. Additional editing is available at a rate of $100 per hour for extensive requests like correcting a spray tan or removing objects from the background. We shoot our images in camera to be soft, beautiful, and luminous without relying on heavy manipulation afterwards.

When can we expect our images?

We know how excited you are to see your photos! We guarantee a 6-week maximum turnaround on your wedding photos but we do our best to get them done sooner. Portrait sessions take about 3-4 weeks.

We would like prints. Do we have to order them through you?

No, you are welcome to print them on your own. We are also happy to take care of all the work for you. We do full retouching on all prints ordered through us. You can rest assured knowing we will handle everything for you and it will arrive the way it was meant to be seen. Our prints are printed on museum quality fine art paper and the colors are matched to my computer for accuracy. Let me know if you want to see samples. We would love to go over all of the options over coffee or sangria, but mostly sangria.

How soon should we book you?

Most of our couples book 12-18 months out to ensure getting their wedding date. We only accept 20 weddings in a calendar year in order to offer the best service to each of our couples.

Do we have to book an engagement session?

You aren’t required to book us for an engagement session but most of our couples do. Not only are they super fun, they are also a great opportunity to get to know each other and make sure you are comfortable in front of the camera before the wedding. Each session is customized for you and includes prints AND digitals.  This means you will have some photos to display at the wedding, on your walls, and on your wedding website. Yay!
